Congratulations to MARAC’s spring 2017 scholarship winners!

The MARAC Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the recipients of our scholarships to support attendance at the Spring 2017 meeting in Newark, New Jersey.

The Marsha Trimble Award ($400 towards conference registration and travel) is being presented to Elizabeth England. Elizabeth is the National Digital Stewardship Resident at Johns Hopkins University, where her project focuses on the preservation of the university’s born-digital visual history. She received an MLIS with a concentration in Archives from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016.

$250 awards for conference registration and travel are being presented to Grace Schultz and Alexa Logush.

Grace earned her Master of Arts in History with a concentration in Public History from Temple University in 2016. She currently works as an Archives Technician at the National Archives at Philadelphia.

Alexa will be pursuing her Masters in Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives in Fall 2017. She currently works in the Tiffany & Co. Archives Department in Parsippany, New Jersey.

The Karen A. Stuart Local History Collection Workshop and Attendance Award is being presented to Lorna Loring. Lorna graduated from the Catholic University’s School of Information and Library Science in 2008 with a focus on digital archives. She also holds a Ph.D. in history from the American University. Currently, Lorna is an archivist at the Stuart Bell, Jr. Archives and Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society at the Handley Regional Library in Winchester, Virginia.
